Corn Roast Parade

August 23
The Loveland Corn Roast Parade is a wonderful opportunity for Stein Fjell to participate in a community event. Did you see the size of the ribbon that we won last year!!
This year, the parade will be on August 23rd. The theme is “Follow the Yellow Corn Road…”. Ride with us on our Viking ship float! Greet our Loveland neighbors! Mark your calendars!

Q

We will meet at Vicki Johnson’s house at 6105 Jordan Drive, Loveland on Friday August 22nd at 4pm to prepare the float. It’s important that our float be completely decorated before the parade starts as that’s when the Grand Marshal selects the top three floats.

The parade route starts at Fairgrounds Park and goes North on Railroad to 6th Street then turns south on Cleveland Ave back to Barns Park, 9:30 – 11:00 AM.

Park and meet at Hwy 402 and Railroad Ave at 8:30 if you want to ride to our starting position in the parade. There will be many seats available in the vehicle for those that would like to be part of the festivities but are not able to walk the 2½ mile route.

Alternatively, you can meet the Viking ship in line around 8:45am. Park by the baseball fields, and walk across the bridge to Roosevelt Ave/Railroad Ave, where the floats line up.

For those who would like to just watch the parade so they can cheer for the Viking Ship and support Sons of Norway, go to the corner of 2nd and Cleveland. This is one block west of the parking garage at the corner of Lincoln and 2nd and near the end of the parade route. The area between 2nd and 3rd on Cleveland is a nice shady spot for watching.
